RIP - Hannah 1988 - 2008...You gave us the best 20 years of our life, little pup!

Rough First Day since Transition Week

Well, no blender yet, so I had to chew lots today. I accomplished what I wanted to for breakfast and lunch (mostly raw), but I knew that I would eat cooked for dinner. It was a lot harder than I thought. Mainly because my salad dressing was horrid and I did not have stevia to sweeten the tea. Pretty happy though. I know I had lots of snacks today because I have the "throw-up" issue. I also had a tablet (in halves) of glucose today to also prevent the issue. Went to Whole Foods and stocked up. Looking forward to tomorrow, which is really today (3:49 am). I just ate a granny smith apple, it was organic. Trying to go that route more. I know I am not supposed to mix fruit & vegetable, but had to for lunch to get tea & bitter salad down. Already notice that I need to drink lots of lots of more water. The cell food makes it very bitter, so I am drinking less cell food and more plain aqua.

My New Obsession....Who would have thought?

Listening: Smooth Jazz - Chet Baker & George Benson

By chance, I discovered Gabriel Cousen's book: There is a Cure for Diabetes and now my new obsession is eating raw food. Cousens is a little too new age for me, but the man knows so much and he is able to present it simple and coherently.

There Is a Cure for Diabetes lays out a three-week plan for reversing the negative genetic expression of diabetes to a physiology of health and well-being. Dr. Cousens’s method, widely tested at his famous Tree of Life centers, is to reset the DNA through green juice fasting and a 100% organic, nutrient-dense, vegan, low-glycemic, low-insulin-scoring, and high-mineral diet of living foods in the first twenty-one days.

I am set to start this Monday, March 3. This week, I have been in transition and have already lost 8 lbs. and my FBS has dropped 100 points. AMAZING!

Arañña Sutta - The Wilderness

Standing there the devata said:

Those living in the forest,
Peaceful and calm, of pure life,
Eating but one meal a day:
How is it they appear so radiant?

The Lord replied:

They sorrow not for what is past,
They have no longing for the future,
The present is sufficient for them:
Hence it is they appear so radiant.
By having longing for the future,
By sorrowing over what is past,
By this fools are withered up
As a cut down tender reed.

Let's give anarchy a chance...

I want to vote for none of the above...

"When you're drowning, you don't say 'I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,' you just scream." - John Lennon

"Turning and turning in the widening gyre, The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity." - William Butler Yeats, The Second Coming

I don't want to live my life this way -

Just take what is given, elbow out a niche, and consume until your body gives out. Then get machines to help, hire out the chores of life, and disolve slowly into history until not a trace remains but shapeless suffering.

Some of my recently discovered favorite philosophical quotes...

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. - Nietzsche

Men would live exceedingly quiet if these two words, mine and thine, were taken away. - Anaxagoras

Life is life - whether in a cat, or dog or man. There is no difference there between a cat or a man. The idea of difference is a human conception for man's own advantage. - Sri Aurobindo

Literary imagination is an aesthetic object offered by a writer to a lover of books. - Gaston Bachelard

There is a tragic clash between Truth and the world. Pure undistorted truth burns up the world. - Nikolai Berdyaev

Liberty is a great celestial Goddess, strong, beneficent, and austere, and she can never descend upon a nation by the shouting of crowds, nor by arguments of unbridled passion, nor by the hatred of class against class. - Annie Besant

Nothing is miserable unless you think it is so. - Boethius

A man's work is nothing but this slow trek to rediscover, through the detours of art, those two or three great and simple images in whose presence his heart first opened. - Albert Camus

Is it just me?

I think John Lennon was a genius!

"I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong. "

"I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people."

"
Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it."

Madalina Iordache-Levay

I happened upon this artist by accident on MySpace and now I am a big fan! Her art is about birth, death and all that is in between. The prints are very mythical. My favorite is Sunset over the ocean (2006)
